Paula Osorio

About her work

Over the years, she has gained a great deal of experience in the world of clothing with a critical view of the fashion industry, especially towards the mass production model that has a high impact not only environmentally but also socially.

Through her work, she seeks to put into perspective the impact of this industry, inviting reflection on the consumption habits that validate it and make us complicit in its practices. The power of the feminine is another subject of her pictorial exploration, seeking to project the inner gaze as a personal journey in the artwork.

Feminine archetypes, the uncomfortable woman, the evolution of women in history, and the vindication of their rights. Giving a new dimension to the images through stenciling and pointillism has been the hallmark of many of her works, with which she seeks to find a new conversation with paper, finding volumes from the most basic form, the point.

The implementation of non-industrialized and non-polluting artisanal techniques such as dyeing with natural dyes and hand embroidery, a technique that women have historically used to tell and capture the stories of their people, has also been essential to lift their voice in more recent history.
