About Your Work

Your creative interests revolve around the possibilities of pictorial image. You reflect on narratives and mythology, their iconography and symbolic content from which you explore the possibility of being updated today in Latin American everyday life.

You are interested in the concept of desire as origin, drive, engine, and sensation and its relationship with the self and the idea of sin. Pictorially, the image is strongly linked to this idea of desire, both visual and tactile. It puts the surface of the painting in tension, experimenting with various materialities and symbolic possibilities.

The relationship with images from different origins allows you to activate a personal and critical gaze, relationships and connections that emerge and reveal a singularity in your pictorial proposals.

In terms of painting, you propose a metaphorical dialogue between images from contemporary popular culture alongside classical and mythological iconography. The particular way of arranging these images in space creates a visual atmosphere, where plastic objects and plastic processes such as: photos, videos, and paintings, gain strength and give rise to an open and complex work.

Evoking vacations. In memory, a warm and humid feeling of going out with family to hot land, the beach. At some point in our lives, we have been tourists, travelers, but when we stop to be spectators of ourselves, the perspective changes and becomes reflective, experiencing a contemplative calm of a tourist, human landscape. Figures in the distance interact in a field of color which is a metaphor, water? A pool? A micro space?

This project began during the period of total isolation due to Covid-19 in 2020, faced with the impossibility of going out as a tourist to make new photographic and video recordings, I had to work with the material gathered during previous years in field trips.

This photographic material is worked on in the studio, recycled, cropped, and digitally edited; tourists are extracted from that place we can call “habitat” to be arranged in a new flat, neutral color space.
