We open the year with the exhibition by Walbert Pérez, a project where painting is understood as a field of energy rather than a fixed image. Here, abstraction does not function as distance, but as direct experience: layers of color, matter, and tension happening right in front of us.

Those who have participated in Yagé ceremonies know that the world does not disappear; it changes its behavior. Something similar happens in these paintings. The shapes are not erased, they are transformed. The recognizable enters into transit and what does not yet have a name begins to take shape.

For Walbert, to paint is to suspend control to allow intensity and consciousness to become matter. The reds advance, the blues deepen, the whites break through. There is expansion, but also structure: axes, tensions, and centers of gravity that sustain each surface.

It is not about illustrating an idea, but about allowing something to happen. Without asking for permission.
