Cartographies of a Childhood

A cartography is a map, a drawing of the path. With each stroke, Silvia returns to the girl who painted without pretenses, solely for the joy of creating.

Her pieces evoke those childhood passions forgotten under the self-demand and rush of a society that prioritizes performance over contemplation. The artist invites us to reclaim play, pause, and wonder: to remember that the journey matters just as much as the destination.

Some works also allude to career beginnings, to those jobs far removed from childhood dreams but necessary along the way. Because stopping is not wasting time, but gaining it. As Byung-Chul Han says: “True life is only possible in the pause.”

Celebrating the path traveled is also honoring that inner child who, without knowing it, brought us here.
