Statement
In the series Passengers, the artist explores the contrasting realities of the city: from the calm or beautiful landscapes found in certain areas, to the chaos, disorder, and overcrowding that dominate in others. She paints these scenes in circular formats, evoking the rearview mirrors of urban transport. These mirrors seek to provide a broader visual field, but at the same time distort the reflected image, functioning as a visual metaphor for how we perceive and understand our surroundings.
She is interested in portraying the diverse environments we inhabit and how these reflect the socioeconomic inequalities of their inhabitants. Her experiences in varied contexts have enriched her existential perspective, allowing her to better understand the multiple realities that coexist in the city. The transit through different urban scenarios has fostered both empathy and a more critical awareness of the social inequities and the prejudices that these entail. Although we all live under the same sky, we experience life in the city in profoundly different ways.
